Reed pipes made for the new William Drake organ in Bedford School

We are delighted to be involved in a new project for our friends at William Drake, organ builders. They have been commissioned to build a new 35-stop instrument in the historic chapel of Bedford School.

All metal reeds and flues will be made by Shires Organ Pipes. The instrument, in an oak case, will have tracker action to manuals and pedals and completion is planned for Autumn 2027.

Here's a selection of the reeds we have made for the organ – and many congratulations to Drake's managing director Joost de Boer and his team.
